52Photos :: wrinkle

my 52Photos capture

My first thought, as I contemplated this week's theme, was self-portrait. My second thought was, maybe not. My third thought was, my hands and how they are aged and lined and wrinkled, at least more so than they were a few years back. My final thought? I went with the self-portrait, by accident really. I was photographing the scarf project I had just completed a tutorial for {but not published here on the blog...yet} and was trying to get capture just the scarf in my shot. When I saw this photo, it was too light, blurry...but I did notice my eye wrinkles. I scrunch my face for some reason when I am trying to focus, it appears. And am I smiling? For what?

NOTE: I purposefully enhanced my wrinkles here, sharpening, defining and adding the vignette. Yes, I do have wrinkles, what almost 47-year old doesn't...but they aren't quite this pronounced. I think. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

We're now at Week 11 in our 52 week journey and I am honored to be a part of this group. I find such inspiration in the photos shared. It's so interesting to see how each member interprets the theme, some are so literal, some are quite artistic, some are personal and some are so full of "story." Do you know what I mean?

  2. Great shot. You are gorgeous! Those aren't wrinkles, though, they are laugh lines. I'm all about collecting laugh lines! I can't wait to see the scarf post--love it!
