our holiday home | write.click.scrapbook.

This layout was created for the December Gallery assignment for write.click.scrapbook., where I'm a team member. I tend to create 8.50 x 11 layouts when documenting stories that focus on Gordon and I or on family. The kids have 12x12 albums and I use the letter size albums for the family and "us" layouts. I may need to rethink this decision because I find that sometimes I'm limiting myself and I don't want to not document a story because it needs a bigger canvas.

The paper flower is actually a fall-themed item from Little Yellow Bicycle which I topped with a metal-rimmed tag

To anchor the strip of paper separating the photo and the journaling, I folded over a circle punched shape on each side of the layout and went old-school by using a grommet to thread my Cappuccino baker's twine through.

Have you created layouts about your holiday home?

  1. I was reading your post and couldn't remember if I made a Xmas layout for 2011!!! Getting old. When I looked, I didn't! Even though I did the DD thing last year (at least I have everything documented)I totally slipped up. Layouts is so important to me. Thanks for the reminder, mine is now safely in my album.
