the wonderful world of washi | cards

All this week, the My Mind's Eye blog is featuring projects using decorative tape, their lingo for the popular washi tape everyone is in love with right now. As I was narrowing down ideas for what I'll be featuring over there on Wednesday, I started thinking up all sorts of projects that I could do with washi tape.

As I mentioned here, the crafty one in the family is often scrambling for a greeting card and I refuse to buy cards anymore...as my Studio is overflowing with cardstock and cute stuff to make my own cards. One night while I was listening to the television show Gordon was watching, I sat one the couch with  rolls and rolls of tape from MME and my scissors.

Presenting, the wonderful world of washi, Cards edition:

Die cuts are a quick + easy addition to the cuteness. And border punches, too, of course.

Yellow and Gray continues to be a design trend dynamo and Stone baker's twine from The Twinery is the perfect finishing touch.

And one more...pop a button onto a metal-rimmed tag and add a bit of twine!

You know you have rolls and rolls of tape, AND cute stuff, what's stopping you? And here's where you can find more washi tape projects.

  1. Cute cards Monika and I bet they were pretty fast to make....you didn't need to bring out any adhesive except for the die cuts

  3. What a great idea to use washi tape to make cards - and they're so cute and I'll bet fast to make! I've been eyeing the new MME tapes but wasn't sure about the colors but after seeing them here I'm off to do some shopping!
