52Photos

the story

I was invited to join a bloggy friend, fellow write.click.scrapbook. member  and all around good person, Lisa Ottosson, in a year-long project. I jumped at the offer. Why? Because I have not been as good these past few months in getting out and exploring with my camera in hand. And I used to do it nearly every day. I miss those everyday photos and the discoveries I made while focusing on capturing life. I was able to focus on nothing, if that makes sense. Just walk and see things in a way I wouldn't see them if I didn't have my camera with me.

the details
  • we've created the blog button you see above, if you'd like to participate with us
  • we've established a Flickr group for us all to post our photos to...after all it is a journey of discovery and we'll all get to know each other better by how we interpret each week's theme
  • Lisa and I will both post on our individual blogs, as well as in the Flickr group, about 52Photos every Thursday of the year...sharing our photos and also the next week's theme

the synopsis

Join two girls and their cameras as they embark on a journey of discovery. With one girl in Sweden and the other girl in Tennessee, they will learn more about each other through their interpretation of weekly photographic challenges.

the invite

Won’t you join us as we learn more about ourselves, and each other, through our 1 year/52 week/52 photo challenge?

the challenge

We thought it would be fun to interpret the new year {2011} in a unique way. Our challenge this week is to take a photo at 20:11 {that's the European and also military way of interpreting 8:11 p.m} on January 1, 2011. Will your photo be of the clock? Your kids asleep in bed? Folding a load of laundry? Hmmm...can't wait to find out.

Charge your camera batteries and start clicking!

I'm definitely going to give it a try. I hope you'll post the challenges on fb, too, as I've been really bad about checking blogger lately.
(If this is a recent pic, your hair looks cute (: )

  9. I thought you are going to do this on Thursdays? Will it be Thursdays after today?

I did this type of a project in 09 once a month on a specific day and took the same 4 pictures. Pretty interesting to see how things change in over a year.
Anyway, sounds like fun. Hope I can remember tonight!

  13. I'm gonna have to think about this; it's tempting. I'm still trying to sort-out what projects I really want to do this year. With a new baby on the way I'm trying to be realistic! It's a great idea though, and I love the blinkie. :)
