this and that

We've been doing a little of this and a little of that around here.

+ a little review work on multiplication tables for Isabella {she'll be a 3rd grader}
+ a lot of swimming for the little girl, the big girl and the bigger girl {that's me}
+ a little work on simple addition for Victoria {she's headed to Kindergarten}
+ a lot of ooohing and aaaahing by us all as Victoria enters the world of reading! she's lovin' the Dick
   and Jane series and thinks it's pretty special that Mommy learned to read with Dick and Jane, too!
+ a little bit of cooking as Mommy tries to sneak in quick & easy dinner recipes {wink, wink}

Need to do more work on my Myrtle Beach trip journal which I'll share, of course.
Need to do a few creative team assignments so I can be on track.
Need to update my 52Photos and post to the blog and to the Flickr Group.

But, I HAVE been busy. I promise. Here are a few things I've been working on and listed in the shop yesterday evening.

A nostalgic saying, that's for sure, but one that I believe in. I realize how lucky we are as a family to have a home that shelters us and houses our joys and triumphs and sorrows and dilemmas. We love our home, it IS sweet.

home sweet home

I admire greatly all the truly wonderful teachers that dedicate themselves to guiding and inspiring our children. Yes, I do. I certainly don't have the patience to do what they do each and every day. Year after year. I still remember those great teachers I was lucky to have been inspired by. Do you?  And to those teachers that are not so great, why don't you find another profession? {Sorry, I really needed to add that. If they don't like their jobs, find one they do like and don't take your grumpiness out on the children that don't understand why they act that way.}

I usually present Isabella's teachers with a small gift and wanted to do the same thing this year, except for two now. Art for the classroom walls or even in a frame on the desk seemed like a good idea, so I went with that and this is what resulted...all in bright, primary-ish hues like the colors of the rainbow. Hope the teachers like their gift, maybe your kids' teachers would like one, too!

  1. I found your awesome blog/etsy shop via "a friend to knit with." She blogged about that print and linked to your shop...might explain the mystery.?.
