Working on the 2012 Month-In-Review mini book: monthly pages have been created, papers have been chosen and are trimmed and ready to be glued, still deciding on the front cover design. I'll photograph and plan to have them listed in the shop by Friday.

Printing these photos to add to my Fall mini album:

Crafting projects on my desk right now for Write.Click.Scrapbook., Momenta, PSA Essentials, Stamps of Life, The Twinery, Little Yellow Bicycle, Market Street Stamps and of course, I Love It All - the blog and the shop.

Off for a little shopping with Gordon this morning and then the Pumpkin Patch with my littlest punkin' and her Kindergarten class on Thursday.

what's boo with you

After a week with the whole family at home, today will be the first day that I will be alone {and I'm sure lonely} in 10 days. There's a home to clean, laundry to be done, ironing to finish up, linens to change and we are in dire need of a run to the grocery store. And I'll be missing these two mini blessings and my Mr. wRight, too!

photo taken in Cookeville, TN where I ate several of the best donuts {ever} | must have more Buttertwists

On top of all that...it's going to be whirlwind of pretty paper and adhesives of all kinds in my craft room  as I prepare for a fun, fun week of hosting at Write.Click.Scrapbook. next week featuring some awesome products from Momenta.  And a few extra special projects that I'll share with you later.  Stay tuned...wink, wink!

I'd also like to share with you this little Halloween art printable...sized to 8x10 and ready to frame. NOTE  |  Free download has expired, but this print is still available for purchase here.

So, what's BOO with you today?

boo

We've had wonderful weather for our Fall Break here in Walland! Sunny, gorgeous skies, cool mornings and warm afternoons. Road trips. Lazy days. Busy days. Good days. And that's why the same post has been up all week...so now you know. But, I did want to share the first in a series of Halloween layouts today, created very early on, when I first started scrapbooking in 2009, I think.

A visit from my Mom to see her first granchild, and only grandson, to Baumholder, Germany coincided with Halloween. It was our turn time slot to hand out candy to all the kids going stairwell to stairwell in our military housing neighborhood. Zach was 11 months old in October 1992. Time flies.

This was a kit purchased from the Dollar Spot at Target, and I further embellished the layout with a Hallmark pumpkin sticker and rub-ons from Basic Grey j- maybe, I'm not sure. I used pop dots behind the jack-o-lantern and BOO elements that were first placed on heavy duty cardstock and then fussy cut.

This Halloween was from a time when it was just Zach and I at our little townhome. Sure, Gordon was a big part of our life, but he's not in our photos this Halloween. We took Zach to our local mall for trick-or-treating to each of the mall stores. Wow, I remember that Zach loooooved carving that pumpkin. He was very serious about the "job." What do you think of our homespun {cheap} costume?

See that pull tab, it tells the story of our Halloween. I added the tab, topped with a button to a piece of cardstock and used pop dots so that the journaling card would fit under the photo between the pop dots. I remember thinking I was so crafty to use my huge supply of cross-stitch thread to add the stitching to the felt American Crafts felt arrow.

I'll be sharing more BOOtiful layouts all this month!

scrap rendezvous | guest post

When I began thinking about creating a project using heritage photos for my guest post at Scrap Rendezvous, my mind immediately went to gift ideas for my Mom's birthday which was on September 22nd.  Never one to do "just a card" I decided to use photos of my brother and I as youngsters as a fond memory for her.

Having just purchased the Big Kick die cutting machine from Sizzix and the Top Note bracket-shaped die from Stampin' Up!, I wondered how it would do cutting felt? Beautifully, of course, so I went from there.

That's the result...a felt mini book with old-fashioned hand stitching to boot! I freehanded the script as I stitched along, no pre-planning, therefore the imperfection of it all.

After cutting all my felt page pieces, I rummaged through my embroidery floss and chose two rather subdued tones to add to the vintage, heritage feel I was hoping to create. And that number ribbon, well, it just seemed so fitting for a birthday. Don't you think so, too? Now for a peek {and some giggles} at my heritage photos with those oh, so vintage clothes and my, "Oh, Mom, do you really have to cut my hair yourself?" haircuts. Did your Mom do that, too?

And on the inside front cover, I stitched the year and a heart! I used tacky craft glue to adhere the two felt pages back-to-back and time will tell if it holds up to being handled. The photos were adhered using foam squares and I have no doubts that those will hold well...they are stuck!

Here's my gorgeous and uber-stylish 70-year old Mom and her reaction to her mini book. My brother got a kick out of the heritage photos, too, when Mom showed the mini book to him.

And while we're at it, I'd like to share this photo {via a mirrored window} of Alexandra, my Mom and me during a mini-trip to Chicago this Summer - for Zach's Navy boot camp graduation. Alexandra is like a breath of fresh air, so full of historical knowledge of her adopted city and such a pleasant lunch companion. Tres chic is but just one way to describe this lovely lady.

I think I just might need to do more of these, it was fun!

world card making day | a blog hop with momenta

To celebrate World Card Making Day, Momenta is hosting a blog hop with our amazing design team in hopes of inspiring your creativity with our fabulous products!

To participate, all you have to do is leave a comment on each of the 16 blogs on the hop {complete list below}. The deadline for commenting is 11:59 pm EST, Sunday, October 2, 2011. Five winners will be chosen via random.org on Monday, October 3rd and will be announced on the My Momenta blog! Each winner will be receiving one of our five boxed card kits.

Each Card Kit contains 12 cards and envelopes, assorted stickers, cardstock borders and gems! I used this kit to create my cards. It was very liberating to have everything I needed at my fingertips without having to scramble for bits and pieces. Those sparkly gems really added a sophisticated touch to these cards.

I even embellished the bracket-shaped envelope flaps with some of the cardstock embellishments  I didn't use on the cards. Everything comes packaged in a sturdy box perfect for gift giving. Here, I've added my embellished cards back to the box so...

...that all I had to do was add this cute ribbon I got at Michaels last week. Ta Da...a card set for my Mom created in minutes and ready to gift in its own cute box!
