before & after & after

You saw the work in progress here and now I can reveal the finished project.

papers by SEI | chipboard letters from Hobby Lobby | subway art here

My inspiration? Tumblr, of course. Remember in my blog goals post on Monday, I mentioned that I would periodically browse through the archives and actually choose some of those awesome ideas I've collected from other crafty souls? I did and I remembered that I loved this idea. I still want to do EAT for my kitchen some day. If I were really smart, I would display HIPS or NO. EAT is not the problem, it's the NO that is the problem, hence the HIPS! {Can't blame it all on having my babies late in life, now can I?}

And for the "Things our Kids Say" file...Victoria looked at these letters and said, "Mommy, those are Christmas colors. And those are snowflakes." Whaaaaat? And please know that she said this in a cute, sweet voice, not an "I think I'm 15, not 5" voice. I thought I did a pretty good job choosing papers that were winter-ish without being too holiday-ish. I happen to like this and it's staying.

I just wasn't ready for Valentine's Day decor. Yet.

Here's the after after. I moved it to the mantle and I notice it about 20 times a day more now. Which is the point I'm trying to make with myself.

And don't you think it's pretty clever that I worked my One Little Word and a Tumblr project all into one post?

  3. I think they look great! And I love that you can see it everyday. I chose the word SIMPLIFY and I plan to make a reminder to keep it in my thoughts daily. Thanks for sharing!
