happy birthday giveaway | write.click.scrapbook.

It's monthly Gallery reveal time at write.click.scrapbook. and as always, you won't want to miss a single layout! And June also marks the month we celebrate another year of sharing our love of simple scrapbooking!

Welcome to the big birthday bash Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from the blog of our delightful and talented leader

if not, begin here so that you can collect letters along the way to spell out a secret message that will earn you an entry in the surprise giveaway!

I don't remember exactly how I found write.click.scrapbook. but I seem to recall it was probably from reading Stacy Julian's blog. I clicked over and made a connection with what w.c.s. was all about and continued to visit each day, as I still do, and soaked in all the goodness presented to me. I joined in challenges presented by the hosts each week and I remember trying to learn how to upload a project inspired by one of the hosts to the Flickr group and not really getting the hang of it. The host that week walked me through it and that she took the time to help clueless little me. That meant a lot.

When I was offered the opportunity to join the team, I truly was surprised and definitely wondered how and why! I mean, who knew Monika Wright? No one. I wasn't published, didn't have a blog and had no design team experience at all. But, thankfully, they saw that I had a desire to create and to be creative in how I document our family's stories. I still pinch myself.

What makes me love write.click.scrapbook. is that there's always a willingness to help. We're a community of women from around the world represented by the United States, Canada, France, Sweden and now even Japan {one of our members and her family just moved to Japan for a few years} that all have a desire to tell our stories in fun, artistic, messy, simple, elaborate ways either by way of paper, digital or hybrid in layouts, cards, altered projects or mini books.

I've even had the pleasure of meeting one of our team members in real life when my Mom and I went to Chicago last year to see Zach graduate from Navy Boot Camp. Here's Alexandra, Oma and me in a mirrored window in downtown Chicago.

And you might already know that Lisa and I are partners with our 52Photos project, we're in our 2nd year!

+++++

This month, each of us was matched up with another team member and I am delighted to have been paired with one of our newest members, whom I find to be talented, crafty and have such a delightful, cheery style: Kathy Martin of Card-Blanc. Here's the layout I chose as inspiration...

...and here's a sneak of what I created with a handful of pretty paper scraps from my scrap drawer, my 2" square punch, a mini shipping tag and some Honeydew baker's twine that perfectly matched my chipboard sentiment. As  I said in my Gallery notes, I played around with adding more embellishments to better emulate what Kathy created, but ended up just clustering my embellishments in the lower right hand corner.

You'll need to visit the Gallery to see the rest of my layout and links to where each design team member got her inspiration.
