Setting Up My 30 Lists Journal

I've been setting up my 30 Lists Journal for the March challenge, just a little bit here and there as I'm watching my lineup of British crime series' on Amazon Prime.

If you haven't heart about 30 Lists, you can read more and Register Here, which opens Saturday, February 10th. If you use my affiliate link, I'll earn a small fee but it will cost you nothing extra. I've been listing along with the 30 Lists gang for the 15th time now and this will be my third challenge as an Ambassador. So yeah, you could say that I enjoy this whole listing thing.

You can read posts about all my #30lists journals here.

WHAT I'M USING
I'm again using a mixed media smashbook style journal from the shop, here's the one I'm using and here's a whole section of journals. There's a mini kit included, as seen below, with your purchase.

Just above, you'll see the add on embellishment kit that's chock full of yummy goodies. Tell me if I've forgotten to add the photo showing one of the embellishments and I'll add it in for you!

HOW I'M USING THE MINI KIT + EMBELLISHMENT KIT
I'm sure it has crossed your mind, upon receiving an embellishment kit full of bits and baubles and such, as to what you are supposed to do with it all. Well, I'm going to share how I plan on using each and every piece pictured above, from the mini kit that's included with your mini book to the add on embellishment kit.

So, first I'll show you how the journal appears as you receive it and then how I plan to embellish my pages. Remember though, there are no rules. Some customers are perfectly satisfied adding their list to their pages without adding a single embellishment. So, it's all good.

If you're more of a Midori Insert kind of list nerd, check these out.

I used the jade marbleized journaling card with heart cut out tab to tuck inside my front pocket. I generally use this pocket to fill out a "me right now" card...especially during the March challenge as I have a birthday this month.

I used the folded over kraft bag as my first page. The folded over tag, heart die cut and paper clip are all from the add-on kit, the "want" die cut is part of the freebie download you receive in your 30 Lists registration packet.

With the add-on kit, you have your choice of color of three crochet heart paper clips and the yellow bracket die cut I added to the page comes with your kit.

With the Polaroid camera die cut, I added some foam dots to adhere it to the page. That allows me to slip something behind it for added dimension or even if I want to journal my list on something else and include it.

The mini shipping tag comes with the add-on kit...and I have plans to further embellish it.

Each kit has a different shape and color of epoxy paint splatter shapes. I'll probably add the list number or a key word from the list prompt here. The pink rhinestone stickers will serve as my list bullet points.

Yes, I'm a list nerd and thought it would be fun to design a tag with that sentiment. I decided to color in the sentiment outline with a yellow marker to coordinate with the legal pad paper. I obviously need to get stronger reading glasses because I did a terrible job staying in the lines!

I used the polka dotted journaling card from the add-on kit, folded it over and added it to my journal. Here's a tutorial showing how to do the same for your ephemera, showing two methods: one with a standard hole punch and one with the Bind-It-All.

I just added the sticker to the grid journaling card, folding the extra length to the back, and then popped the mini playing card on the reverse side. I decided on a yellow heart crochet clip, more colors here, but any color would look fabulous on most any page in this mini book.

This is one of my favorite layouts, the way the pink inventory tag fits on the paper clip just makes me smile. Love it when things work out like that!

The mini bulldog clip you get in your kit will vary in color, but will be cute no matter what. I'd say I'll end up clipping something there, seems a shame not to. Find more colorful label stickers, from the add-on kit, in this kit as well.

Here I'm using the cardstock pennant shape on the side of my page, it's included with your mini book purchase, and it might be the place I add the date.

The strung white cardstock label tag is part of your mini kit and is included with your puchase. I tucked it under the bull dog clip found in the add-on embellishment kit.

The yellow date journaling spot makes a nice little page tab, don't you think? I just used a glue stick to adhere it to the side of my page.

To make the heart label show up agains the polka dotted kraft paper, I used a red marker to outline it.

Another favorite page set up. I do believe I need to make more of the watercolor shipping tags, just so  fun and actually very relaxing to make. The tag, mini clothespin and arrow die cut comes in the add-on kit. I did end up tying some baker's twine to the tag.

That's a fun shot of how the journal is already getting a little chunky, and peek of the bull dog clip.

More label stickers to be used as journaling spots and a carnival ticket, which I'll use to house the list number most likely.

You can find this same floral 2018 calendar design in the shop, as a download file, in a 4x6 size.

Wow, that was a long post full of photos but I hope it gave you some ideas and maybe even a little bit of inspiration on how you might want to add the bits and pieces from embellishment kits, find more curated kit collections here, to your mini book.

Believe it or not, I've used every single element from the mini kit included with the mini book as well as everything in the add-on embellishment kit in my journal. I don't think I've ever done that. Ever.
