52Photos :: stripe

my 52Photos capture

A beautiful day, 2 gorgeous daughters, 2 rambunctious dogs and 2 hungry horses. That's all it took to get this photo of stripes. When my hosta plants start peeking through, I know that Spring cannot be far behind. It gets me excited about the prospect of all the other plants sprouting and growing and blooming.

The stripes on this hosta are a nice contrast to the traditional green ones we have. The green hosta's are very special to me though. They were here when Gordon and I moved into Mamaw and Papaw Wright's home almost 13 years ago. I have divided and divided and divided those hostas and they keep growing. I take it as a metaphor. They met and fell in love and because of them, we have Papa {and Nana} and that brought Gordon into my life.

So, may those solid green hosta's continue to grow and thrive. But, I do like these stripey's, too. They're from Nana and they are strong growers, too.

the wrap-up

I had the most fun I've had yet. It was warm and breezy and the girls and I were outside yesterday afternoon. I had originally thought to take a photo of the dividing lines on the highway, but wasn't quite sure how I would do that without serious injury.

I've had a few people ask about what I'm going to do with my 52Photos collection. I have a few ideas and just need to make a decision.
