Another First Day

Another first day of school.

They did great. Woke up on time, to their own alarms, and did all their jobs. We even left earlier than usual to avoid all the first day traffic!

Then, as we were bee bopping down the road, this one had to remind me that 11 years ago was her "first" first day of school. Gosh, it seems like once we send them to high school, we're already saying goodbye. In too short a time, our littles are off on their own life adventures only dropping by now and again.

And then on my way home, the back way down an old, winding country road, I pulled over. I pulled over to take a few moments to talk with God, knowing there would be tears {and no mama with tears should be driving down a narrow, winding country road } thanking him for my two precious, innocent. adventurous, intelligent, beautiful, kind hearted, talented, hard-working, sporty, scholarly daughters. 

They are gifts I'll always treasure on this first day and every day.

On A Good Day | Sanibel Island

On our last evening on Sanibel Island, I went on a stroll around the property where we were staying snapping photos of things that interested me. I looked over my shoulder and saw the most wonderful sky and decided to head on out to the beach. I stood in awe of the beauty of every single thing in sight and knew that yes, it was a good day.

And who says that a journaling card has to be used just for journaling? I quickly added the Hello Summer card to my mini book after trimming a photo to fit inside the card...it makes it look more like a photo frame, right?

I used this mini book which includes the embellishment kit you see, here's a similar mini book, then added one of my scallop label tags and called it done.

Travelers Notebook
Voila, an embellishment that began as a journaling card. How cool is that! I trimmed the Vacation Vibes card down to label size and added it to this travelers notebook cover.

I just used a border punch along the edge to fancy it up. You could even use washi tape to add a punch of color. Or, add it to the cover of your journal with a mini clip.
