stocking stuffers :: a teen gift?

I gifted this address book to my son's girlfriend as she was headed off to college, but am not quite so sure it was a good idea in retrospect. Especially in this age of all things electronic. I was probably just making a gift I would love to receive! Do you ever do that, too?

I used the Nocturne Punch-Out Pad from Colorbok that has a Romance theme. Not something you would typically think of using for a teen, but as I was browsing through the stack I was able to find several elements to use in my address book mini. I used the address book pages from this project and here's a tutorial on putting one of these together for yourself.

Although I used my Bind-it-All, I designed the pages so that you could also use a hole punch and bind with book rings or ribbon.

The inside front cover uses the other part of the circle I trimmed from the cover page and then an address tab for family addresses.

Every young adult has tons of friends, so this section is quite a bit thicker than the family section. Again, the back side of the tab page has the rest of the circle die cut.

I thought this would be a good section for new college friends' addresses and maybe a few photos, too.

A quick, relatively inexpensive idea that could make a cute stocking stuffer, a teacher's gift or even a little something to corral all your own addresses into a neat, new book to start 2011 off just right!

  2. This is terrific! Cute little books are appreciated by teenage girls. And addresses aren't as passe as phone number lists; if she wants to mail a package or something, snail mail is the only way!

  3. Cute! Sometimes it's nice to have certain things on paper (vs electronic). I posted my first BIA project on my blog if you want to see!
