newest additions to my home | list 9

This time of year, the newest additions to my home are almost always pillows. Something about cooler temps and changing colors me me want to up the coziness factor of our home with plush down filled pillows. I have a collection of zippered pillow covers in different sizes and store them in a bin during the off seasons.

By investing in down pillows, I can change the look of our home by just changing the covers and only having to store just the flat covers, not a ton of pillows. My favorite places are TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning for affordable down filled pillows and covers. I have been know to purchase clearance pillows for in hideous designs for a few dollars just to get the down insert and end up donating the pillow cover!

THE KIT I'M USING

BEFORE THE LIST
I embellished my page with goodies that were included in the embellishment pack that came with this mini album. This one is sold out, but you can find similar journals in the shop. Each kit had a different playing card, mine had a 9, so it was perfect for list number 9 don't you think? The glitter striped die cut punch was also included and I attached it to the side of my page as sort of file tab.

Here's a close-up so you can see the yummy glittery feel of the paper.

And to add a little bit of fun, I added another scallop die cut to the reverse side.

AFTER THE LIST
I often use the offcuts from trimming my travelers notebook inserts as embellishments on my mini book pages. I'm not one to waste pretty paper, that's for sure. The color of my scrap matched the page plus it allowed me to add some orange to this side of the spread to coordinate with the peachy orange on the right side.

As much as I love using my letter stickers as part of my title, I do adore using my handwriting as well. It's party of me and my story and I think it should be included. I know that some people are not fans of their own handwriting, but I don't let that stop me.

MY NEW PILLOWS
A friend on social media posted about a fabric sale on flannel at JoAnn's a few weeks back and, you guessed it, I hopped in my car and drove to Knoxville to take advantage of the sale. I have enough of the plaid flannel to made another smaller pillow.
